The history lecture.....

On the 19 of  September we had a history lecture which was given Sir Robert who is a history lecturer at Tumba Gymnasium. He spoke about the history of Sweden which was made interesting by using a power point presentation. The session was around for 2 hours. He explained us in brief how Sweden which was ruled by Denmark became an independent nation.

technical museum

the day waz 26th of sep where we first came to Tumba Gymnasium  and soon we got something interesting to do ie intereacting with the swedish in their class along with their English teacher  following that we had our lunch & moved to the tech museum  called Tekniska Museet where in we saw a display of 100 inovations that swedish actually felt that it waz important  ,a guide helped us explaining things first we started with a wonderfull creation that I personally liked the most ie the 3D X-Ray wehere in we could see all the  things inside a human body without actually operating him
followed by steam engine  and then the different forms of cycles that were in use in the past and  how it is 2day  then we were left freee to explore the museum on our own ans seriouslly it waz lot of fun as never before ,we also played many games that waz related to some tech knowledge ,the concept used in the museum waz mind blowing I personally liked it a lot  ,here write from a kid to an adult can explore and return with lots and lots of  knowledge

it waz a greate day acc to me and i enjoyed a lot finally we left the museum at approx 5.30 so that we can move on to have our dinner

Ericsson

When sir told us that we will be going to Ericsson I was very excited as it is one the biggest companies in the world. We got a chance to see their main office where they have displayed all their new techniques that are used behind communication. The best part was that they welcomed us in completely different way which they called as digital shower. They flashed the programming codes that they used in their company. Then we where given a brief information on how mobile phones came into existence and how a big, heavy phone became a small. light pocket size phone. we also learned that Ericsson was the first company to make tablets but than those tablets where not used due to lack of internet. then we where showed the different new techniques that they have invented. the best one which I liked was the tree which would speak when ever we touched it. It was a completely new experience filled with fun and knowledge. 

CNN Class

It was 18th september @ Tumba Gymnasium. After having our lunch we attended our very 1st lecture in the college. It was a CNN class (Circuits and Networking). From this class i learned that the portion of CNN is divided into 1st year and 2nd year split continuation, and i think this system is better than the system what we have in our state. I think so because it is better to divide the portion and study, rather than studing all at once and than after answering exam forget what was done. I enjoyed this class a lot cause , i could solve almost all problems which were given to us and i also learnt some new words in swedish language like "Starm" is a word used for saying 'current'.
Than i explained the same problems to the other students in the class. The formulas used here are the same as what we use , the only thing different is that the medium of communication between the teachers and the students is in their own language(svanska).
I totally enjoyed this class because i love CNN subject and also teaching others. The lecturer of the class and our teachers were very happy because most of us interacted, got mixed very well along with the other students in the class and it was a good experience and loads of fun. And i also gained confidence within me that I'm good in CNN.........!!!!!!!

The visit to Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan abbr. KTH was very interesting and inspiring.

KTH also called as the Royal Institute of Technology. The main campus buildings are at Valhallavägen in Östermalm. KTH institutions are distributed across several campuses in Stockholm County, located in Flemingsberg, Haninge, Kista and Södertälje in addition to the ones in Östermalm.

We visited the one in Kista. 

At KTH, Kista, we attended a lecture given by Mr. Robert. He told us various things about Sweden & KTH.

At first he gave us a brief history about Sweden to make us familiar with the country's past and also how education grew in Sweden. We were told about which universities were started in which part of the country and when for example, Uppsala University which is the oldest University in Sweden.

KTH offers programmes in Architecture and Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics & Mathematics, Information Technology, Life Science Technology, Material Science & Engineering, etc and doctoral degrees.

There we also met an Indian student, Samarth Dev, who told us how he got into KTH and life in Stockholm.

The session was very interactive. Many questions and answers were exchanged and various views and thoughts were shared.

SUNDAY-Full on shopping

The day was bright and sunny. As it was Sunday we all got up a little late. we had no classes and no work. So we planned to hang out, chill and enjoy shopping.... It was quite a good plan! So the first need was money. so we went to Forex to exchange currency. And then straight away headed towards malls...

We all were just waiting to shop. We checked out shopping malls like H&M, LINDEX etc...Yes it is quite a lot expensive here in Sweden, but the things are good and attractive.
Every now and than Girija used to convert kronor into Indian rupees so got little confused while buying...

The great thing was about the lunch...We actually found a nice Indian restaurant and enjoyed Indian food almost after a gap of a week...

Then we saw a free market which is open only on sundays.There we could find crockery and showpieces at cheaper rates.We then shopped at other different places and enjoyed the shopping.
It was awesome experience to shop on our own that too in Swedish kronor.....

We all did lots and lots of shopping!!!!!

Trip to The Nobel Museum-Gamlastan

It was the 24th of september..We visited the museum in the afternoon session.We travelled from Tumba to Gamlastan by train.We went with the Swedish group as well as our entire group.This museum is a tribute to Alfred Nobel.It offers Nobel awards to the linguished personalities in the field of Physics,Medicine,Literature,Humanity.The museum is a perfect example of development of technology and commitment to various spheres of human development.Its a worth place to visit in Stockholm.They offer awards to the real espects of nobality.The entire trip was of 45 min duration.So we enjoyed the trip...

visit to paper mill

it waz the 3rd day,.......   ie 18th sep in sweden,

and  1st visit out of Tumba, it waz a long walk from Tumba .

as we reached little early and the mill waz not opened as yet, we jst went to explore a small place where in all the old techniques of fire fighting waz seen......  ½½"#

at 10 we actually started looking places in the mill there were 3 buildings to explore  and the guide called Cristan waz suppose to help up to know about things,¤¤¤%

 

1st we started with the history of paper and (how it came into existance and what waz the use of it in oldan days in sweden ) we entered a small house where in we also explored about the life style of a quieen  and here family who then came to the work of paper```` .###i&))

 

then we entered the 2nd house that waz regarding the history of paper notes (ie the currency ) he also showed us the notes & coins  in oldan days & how it iz 2day it waz a lot of difference ........

 

3rd house waz the wherein he demonstrated the actuall making of paper and printing different  patterns on it 

comming back to Tumba we had a lot of fun doing photography 

& then started the 1st day of shopping wherein we jst did window shopping.

SEALS INTERACTING IN ENGLISH CLASS

Else_lill English teacher in Tumba requested us (the seals) to visit her one of the class... and so we did. The interaction started and then the chatting went on... It continued until we were told to stop.  The students in the class were so interactive and so in wanting to know about the lifestyle of India that they ended up asking questions about our personal life. The students and the teacher was very friendly and talkative.

They started with the questions about states,capital and facts that they knew about India. Then also we were asked about our culture and tradition. we also had discussion about arrange and love marriages... which was quite interesting! swedes were surprised to hear that most of the Indians have arrange marriages. And we were actually shocked to hear that in sweden  a girl and a boy live together for years without marriage and there is no objection........

Suddenly a question dropped saying ARE YOU IN LOVE??? And there was silence & all were thinking what to answer as other side our teachers and friends were listening to us. Siddharth said yes... Sneha said no. and others were quite........ thinking not to let out the secret.....

The most funny part was that Kiran from our group actually had a proposal from a Swedish guy. But Kiran ended up saying she would like to go for a arrange marriage and her parents will choose a perfect match for her. Poor guy had to go empty hands......

Overall we had a great time discussing and debating on different topics. And our teachers were only enjoying as they were told to zip up their lips. We all enjoyed a lot and had a very good experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Life in Sweden

The group of fifteen is experiencing a new lifestyle in Sweden ... we are really fascinated with how organised things are in Sweden.

When we go shopping, everyone stays in a queue for making their payment ..... we´ve never seen anyone breaking the queue! And yet you hardly see long queues. Really surprising, isn`t it. The people at the cash counter handle each person before attending to the next person at the queue.

And the traffic system is simply great ! You don´t have to bother or worry about getting runover by any vehicle. You can literally cross a busy street with your eyes closed !!! Because every oncoming vehicle respects a pedestrian crossing the road and waits till you cross. And yes, even if we Indians cross the road at a leisurely pace !  Before you cross a road at the pedestrian crossing, you have to press a switch and lo and behold, all vehicles magicall grind to a halt while our majesties gracefully cross the road.

Not that we Indians are really slow. We are getting used to the Swedish way of life and walk really fast - there is always a spring in our step, whether we are going to Tumba Gymnasium, visiting a place or just going shopping. After all, Swedes are very punctual in their timing and so are we !!! We Indians too are very punctual at least in Sweden.

We travel by the commuter train or subway. When we reach the station , we swipe our traveller card and the doors automatically slide open.... some of us like Anagha have tried to squeeze past the door without swiping her card, but..... she was shown the way back t the swiping system by the men in yellow who monitor (and help) passengers on the station.

When the train huffs and puffs (with hardly a sound) into the station, the doors slide open automatically and everyone troops into the train or out of the train in a very orderly manner. In the train too, there are newspapers for anyone to read. And it case you droop of to sleep in the train, the public address system brings you back to this world by telling you that you´ve reached your destination. And you hop off to the organised and beautiful streets of Sweden ...

 Big day for all the 12 student's and the 3 faculty members "SEALS" from Goa. Today we marked "INDIA DAY" in Sweden. The preparation for this day, which were carried out from quite a long time, was about to be finally displayed to the Swedes. The event was to display the culture, tradition, religion, ethics about INDIA. The students put up various dance forms such as the goan folk dances like dekhni, kunbhi, and others like bhangra, lavni, corodinho and patriotic songs and also served some common snacks and eatables found in goa and displayed some videos which described the scenic beauty and colors of India.

sunday the ,day out for shopping

    and it waz fun  we did nothing but jst shopping shopping & lots and lots of shopping
we got up late 2day and at approx 11 & left our hostel ,
2day we were aloud to rome on our own and bye whatever we req in given time  
at 1.30 we went to a resturent to have our lunch  and i loved it........   it waz awesome.......ahhh i really liked it a lot,
it waz indian food exactly that i wanted in this cold weather
again after having our lunch we went to shoping and at 8 we returned home.

and 2day s day  waz jst awesome ***, caz we went  shopping, 

as the students here  did't have  any classes on sat,

stockholm central waz the first destination where we where we explored a shopping mall

at 12.30pm we left 2 vist to Skansen (ie the a preservation of the old houses & their ideas to live

at around 3 we had our lunch and again we went to shopping via boat and at 8we entered Buger king

to have our dinner at the end the day waz really good studing abt the history of the sweden and shopping   shopping & shopping......

 it waz really really tiring but we enjoyed a lot

Finally we are in Sweden........
This trip has turned out to be much more exciting than expected. Past 3 days were completely filled with enjoyment. We started with the visit to Tumba Gymnasium, met the students, staff and faculty members whom we found very helpful and friendly. Sir Lennart and Towhid took us to the paper mill & historical museum in Tumba, where we saw different carts and vehicles of 1880, making of bank note paper using cotton and history of Swedish bank notes.
On Tuesday, we also visited Body Worlds exhibition at Tom Tits Experiments. We were fascinated to watch placinated body parts of different people, then we came to Tom Tits and had lots of fun with a lots of scientific phenomena - awesome way of learning with fun  !!! We also experienced a slide which had a height almost equal to 2 floors where we went round and round screaming and shrieking our lungs out - not sure if anyone was terrified except Royston.. We experienced lots of experiments and really enjoyed Tom Tit's. We wanted to be there for much longer time but due shortage of time we had to leave.
We also had lectures on history and culture of Sweden, lighting n Circuits and networks with the Swedish students - it was fun sitting and listening to lectures with our Swedish students.
All these experiences were great and we are looking forward to experience even more!!!!!
